The supply of desalinated water to Roquetas de Mar is suspended due to maintenance of the Campo de Dalías plant

Water is declared unfit for consumption in the municipality, from 8:00 a.m. on May 29 to 8:00 a.m. on May 31, so it can only be used for personal hygiene and domestic cleaning.

ACUAMED (Waters of the Mediterranean Basins) has informed the different municipalities to which it supplies desalinated water, of the suspension of the service due to maintenance work at the Campo de Dalías desalination plant. Some work will cause it to stop for a period of 48 hours, if there are no complications, interrupting the supply on May 29 and 30.

 

 

This is why the Junta de Andalucía has decreed water not suitable for human consumption from 8:00 a.m. on May 29 to 8:00 a.m. on May 31, so it can only be used for personal hygiene and cleaning. domestic, as reported by the Roquetas de Mar City Council in a municipal report.

Hidralia together with the Roquetas City Council are working to guarantee water service to citizens and vulnerable groups through different alternatives. 

The supply of drinking water will be carried out, while the maintenance work of the desalination plant is carried out by Acuamed, through tanker trucks, which will be distributed in different areas of the municipality. The locations of these supply points will be:

  • CISTERN 1 (MOBILE): Alternates between Plaza Francisco Rivera Paquirri (Cortijos de Marín), Solanillo and Educational Centers.
  • CISTERN 2 (FIXED): Avda. Pedro Muñoz Seca - next to Depósito.
  • CISTERN 3 (FIXED): El Parador - next to Plaza de la Iglesia.
  • CISTERN 4 (FIXED): Virgen del Rosario Residence Parking.
  • CISTERN 5 (FIXED): Start Avda. Cerrillos with Calle Entremares.
  • CISTERN 6 (MOBILE): Alternates between Plaza Andalucía (200 homes) at first thing in the morning and from 6:00 p.m., Las Losas - next to the Hermita stop and Residential and Senior Centers.

On the other hand, different actions are being coordinated with the so-called critical centers (health facilities, nursing homes, care and educational centers) to ensure that they have the drinking water they need so that their usual activity is not affected and that their Users have identifiable water access points.

Both Hidralia and the Roquetas City Council call on the population to restrict non-essential uses of water as much as possible, to avoid the rapid emptying of reserves and guarantee supply, while the ongoing work lasts. to be undertaken by Acuamed.
