Hidralia launches an information campaign for tiger mosquito prevention and control
Marbella City Council, together with Hidralia and the Acosol public company, has launched an information campaign for prevention and control of the tiger mosquito. This insect can transmit diseases to humans through its bite
Over 78,000 information leaflets will be distributed to all the inhabitants of Marbella with their water bills. In addition, municipal offices will have posters showing recommendations for the people of Marbella to recognise and avoid this insect. Other aspects of the campaign are information in the media, to reach as many inhabitants as possible, and a technical seminar on mosquitoes. The tiger mosquito is distinguished by its black colour, small size, and a white line that crosses its entire body, including the legs and abdomen. It is mainly active in the afternoon and tends to bite legs.
