The 'Smart Water Stories' Contest celebrates 10 years promoting respect for the environment

Its objective is to contribute to the dissemination of water culture and environmental respect among young people between 12 and 16 years old.

Hidralia and its investee companies (Aguas de Benahavís, Aguas de Torremolinos, Aguas de Huelva, Aguasvira and Aguas de Montilla), in its commitment to the environment and sustainable development, once again announces its 'Intelligent Water' short story contest , which comes to a very special edition, as it turns 10 years old.

Aimed at young people between 12 and 16 years old, this award, which reaches its decade, aims to contribute to the dissemination of water culture in all the municipalities in which these companies operate, as well as encourage the participation of the most young people in the sustainable use of this resource through literature, promoting respect for the environment.

Schoolchildren from First to Fourth Secondary School, from the municipalities in which Hidralia or its joint ventures manage the comprehensive water cycle, may participate by sending their story, no longer than 200 words and in Spanish, to the email: certamen@hidralia- sa.es. The theme has to focus on the importance of water in society and the concept of a 'smart city'. The deadline for submitting stories begins on March 22, 2024, on the occasion of World Water Day, and will end on May 6. The bases can be downloaded here.

The winner will be known in the week of June 5, coinciding with World Environment Day, and will be given an iPad Tablet. In addition, a special mention will be made for the educational center that has the greatest number of participants. Last year, Lucía Cazorla, a fourth-year secondary student at the Cardenal Spínola school in Huelva, won first prize with her story 'Formula de Vida'.
