The story 'La cuerda' by Antonio Ballester from Huelva wins the VIII Literary Contest 'Stories of Smart Water'

With this contest, Hidralia and its affiliated companies intend to promote the participation of the youngest in the sustainable use of water through literature

The story entitled 'La Cuerda' by Antonio Ballester from Huelva has been awarded first prize at the 8th Intelligent Water Story Contest, organized by Hidralia and its affiliated companies (Aguas de Benahavís, Aguas de Torremolinos, Aguas de Huelva, Aguasvira and Aguas de Montilla). The prize consists of an iPad Tablet, which will be given to the student of the Cardenal Spínola center in Huelva, which has obtained a new special mention for its high participation and stories submitted to the contest, being one of the most active centers with this initiative.

The event is aimed at young people between the ages of 12 and 16 to contribute to the dissemination of the water culture in all the municipalities in which both Hidralia and its associates in Andalusia operate, as well as encourage the participation of the youngest in the sustainable use of this resource through the literature.

In this way, the Jury formed by journalists and writers related to the water sector, has estimated that the winning story has been able to synthesize the most important aspects related to water protection. The theme should focus on the importance of water in society and on the concept of an 'intelligent city'.

Likewise, the use of words and expressions related to the theme (water, environment, pollution, sea level, commitment, smart city, digital transformation, consumption) has been valued, in addition to some hallmark of the city of the participants.
The contest was held last March to commemorate World Water Day and the winner has been announced, the date coinciding with the celebration of World Environment Day (yesterday, Sunday, June 5). Students between the ages of 12 and 16 participate throughout Andalusia and it is already the eighth year that it has been held, becoming one of the most established contests dedicated to the theme of water in the region.
