Hidralia helps collect almost 80 kilos of garbage in the cleaning of beaches and seabeds of Rincon de la Victoria

The activity has brought together more than 150 volunteers, with great prominence for the little ones

Hundreds of butts, shoes of various types, tires and even a funeral urn. All that has been collected in the cleaning of beaches and seabeds that took place today in Rincón de la Victoria.

The event, organized nationally by the Network of Marine Wardens and coordinated locally by the Ecodive Diving School on the beach of El Tajo and the cliffs of El Cantal, and in which has participated the concessionaire of water and sewerage service of the municipality, Hidralia, with the participation of more than 150 volunteers who have managed to collect around 80 kilos of garbage.

It has highlighted above all the large presence of children in the collection of waste from the coasts, which once concluded, have received a workshop in which they have been explained the importance of taking care of the environment and how long it takes each material to decompose. To give an example: the fishing line takes more than 600 years to disappear.

Hidralia has collaborated in this event contributing, through a collaboration agreement signed with Ecodive Diving School, the necessary materials to carry out the activity. In addition, he has also contributed two tents, which have served as information points for the event, and around a dozen volunteers from the more than 150 who have collaborated in the cleaning of beaches.

The manager of Hidralia in Rincón de la Victoria, Pedro Peña, wanted to highlight the participation of the company in the event, as well as its commitment to the protection of the marine biodiversity of the coast, so important for the municipality and its citizens. "We are committed to the environment and to the municipality of Rincon de la Victoria, and we understand that this action fits perfectly with our values and our Sustainable Development strategy. In addition, this type of actions have a double value: on the one hand we are taking care of our environment, and on the other we are helping to raise awareness among the population of the importance that this has", he said.

The president of the Ecodive Diving School and coordinator of the event in Rincón de la Victoria, Gemma Infante, thanked the participation of all volunteers in the activity, especially the youngest, and wished that in the future it would not be necessary perform this type of events.
