Hidralia highlights the naturalization process of its treatment plants on Biodiversity Day
The implementation of hotels for insects and nest boxes extends throughout its facilities
Hidralia, an Andalusian environmental company that is in charge of the integral management of the water cycle, has revealed the naturalization process that it is carrying out in its WWTPs (Wastewater Treatment Stations) to join Biodiversity Day, which It is celebrated every May 22 and which on this occasion has the motto 'From agreement to action: rebuilding biodiversity.
A message with which the United Nations Organization (UN) wants to highlight the importance of implementing all possible measures to obtain a protected and sustainable biological diversity by 2050. A goal that Hidralia has been working on since for a long time, since it is aware that only through healthy ecosystems (such as forests, riverside vegetation, wetlands...), it is possible to enjoy quality water and maintain adequate water reserves.
For this reason, it has started a process of naturalizing its facilities, and among other actions, such as the installation of charging stations or solar panels to reduce its carbon footprint, it already has hotels for insects in a large part of the facilities it manages, a Space prepared so that insects can take refuge to winter or lay their eggs. On the other hand, there are also nest boxes for birds, as well as nest boxes for bats, as well as a butterfly garden.
An initiative with which Hidralia seeks to preserve the environment in which it is located and generate the minimum possible environmental impact in its activity. Hidralia's objective is to convert the WWTPs into 'Ecofactories', a facility that is based on the principles of the circular economy and the search for energy self-sufficiency, zero waste and the reuse of 100% of treated water.
