Hidralia participates in the "Zero Commitment to the challenge of sustainability" conference, focusing on sustainability, digitization and decarbonization
Gonzalo Jiménez, director of Sustainable Development and Transformation of Hidralia, has highlighted the role of alliances and public-private collaboration to achieve these objectives
The director of Sustainable Development and Transformation of Hidralia, Gonzalo Jiménez, has participated in the virtual meeting "Zero Commitment to the challenge of sustainability", organized by Diario Sur. Along with him, Elena Moreno, area manager of the Sustainable Development Department of HeidelbergCement Hispania and Luisa Higueras, of the Safamotor Electric Sales Development Department at Grupo Safamotor, also took part, under the moderation of the journalist Carmen Alcaraz.
During his speech, Jiménez reviewed Hidralia's commitment in the fight against climate change, sustainability and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). "At Hidralia we are prescribing partners of the Global Compact and we adhere to its 10 principles under the framework of the SDGs, with people at the center. We are committed to sustainability through the circular economy with well-known examples such as our biofactory model, and for the alliances and public-private collaboration with figures such as the Social Pacts or the Network of Water Chairs", he pointed out.
It has also focused on digital transformation, where Dinapsis is the spearhead of the company to implement the Smart City concept in the cities where it operates. "Digitalization for us is the main backbone of the transformation of our company. The company has become a benchmark in the digital transformation of cities." "In Andalusia, Dinapsis is on the Costa del Sol, in Marbella. It is a digital operations center that encompasses a set of digital transformation applications for water management, energy, environmental health and ecological transition", he added.
On this issue, he stressed that it is important to take advantage of the boost that the European Next Generation funds will give, which are an "unbeatable" opportunity to address pending issues in areas such as the Costa del Sol. "These funds are an opportunity for the transformation of cities through digitization and that serve to alleviate specific problems in the area such as water scarcity, especially in periods of drought like now"
Finally, he also spoke about a very specific objective to which Hidralia presents itself as a strategic ally for the support, advice and implementation of measures that allow Andalusian municipalities to achieve it: decarbonization. In this sense, he stressed that it will only be possible with the collaboration of all. "We have a very clear objective, which is the decarbonization of municipalities. This can only be done through alliances, such as the collaboration we have with the FAMP or the promotion we have made of the Andalusian Network against Climate Change (REDAC) ”.
