Hidralia, concessionaire of the drinking water and sewerage service in San Fernando, consolidates its collaboration with the Autism Association Cádiz by renewing one more year the agreement for the improvement of the accessibility of this group and the support to their therapies. A document that was signed at the headquarters of the water company in San Fernando with the presence of the manager of Hidralia, José Luis Trapero, and the president of Autismo Cádiz, Carmen López Ginés.
With this document, Hidralia strengthens its commitment to the entity in different aspects such as the one dedicated to the accessibility of this group to free time or giving them support in their therapies. Among other things, thanks to this agreement Hidralia collaborates to facilitate their movement from San Fernando to the different activities they carry out externally, in the different headquarters that the non-profit organization has in the province of Cádiz. In this way, they can move to perform hydrotherapy sessions, go to the Summer Colonies and Family Respites, or move to Puerto Real to continue with their therapies.
The link between the two entities has been going on for several years with the intention of improving the quality of life of people with Autism Spectrum (ASD) and their families in an essential area such as leisure and free time, as well as collaborating with volunteers to support these activities. In fact, Hidralia has adapted its offices to have a headquarters without cognitive barriers through the concept of universal accessibility and in this way through adapted visual keys the access and understanding of people with autism spectrum disorder, with brain damage, intellectual disability, with language problems, the elderly, people with knowledge of the language or with literacy or reading problems is facilitated.
Autism Cádiz is one of the first associations in Andalusia to serve the group of people with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and their families, since 1979 thanks to therapies, day stay units, primary education, practice of adaptive skills or an extensive program of advice and support for family members. The association has a wide range of services aimed at individuals and families of autistic people, whether minors or adults, so that they achieve a status of full citizens with an optimal quality of life throughout their lives.
Among the various dynamics that Autism Cádiz launches are the Summer Colonies that take place in hostels or camps. There, these people can enjoy a natural environment that helps them relax and get out of the routine, while also offering a few days of vacation to families.
