HIDRALIA pays tribute to the workers on the occasion of May Day
The most essential thing is to take care of all members of society without leaving anyone behind. Because we are one and together we are stronger. This message of solidarity is more important than ever this May Day, International Labor Day.
A celebration that this year will be different, with special thanks to all workers, especially professionals in the health sector and in general for essential services, including water supply and sanitation. For this reason, it is also a special day for HIDRALIA employees and the rest of the Suez Group companies, whose vocation for service and their commitment to society constitute the best guarantee for the proper functioning of a basic and essential service such as water. In difficult times is when we most value those who, also on a day like today, are always by our side.
Security is essential in all the operations of the group. Therefore, all the Suez Group companies, in coordination with the health authorities and administrations, have reinforced preventive measures to protect the health of all their workers. At the same time, the company has provided the appropriate means to adapt the operation, thus ensuring the continuity of the water service and the proper functioning of the facilities, from the purification plants to the entire supply network, thus making it possible that, when a tap is turned on, the water continues to reach homes, hospitals and centers of economic activity as normal.
A prominent measure within the adapted operation model is the permanent presence of workers at the most vital points for the water cycle. A system of autonomous teams ensures the operation of the water treatment plants 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The objective is to protect the health of workers, minimizing the risk of contagion and guaranteeing the full normality of the supply of drinking water and sanitation, activities declared essential services due to their close relationship with health and hygiene.
This mode of presence entails confinement and the adoption of self-protection measures by the operators, who live in motorhomes inside the facilities for the duration of their shifts. Their dedication and professionalism, as well as that of the rest of the employees (those who maintain their operations at street level, those who continue to attend to users electronically or those who carry out their daily work through telework) is one of the main group assets.
In an unprecedented situation like the current one, the most important thing is to have the ability to anticipate and be prepared to know what to do at all times. Taking care of the safety and health of workers has always been a priority for HIDRALIA. This translates into the continuous improvement of all its procedures and rigorous monitoring and control methods. An experience and a way of doing that acquires greater relevance in these times. Today, International Labor Day, is the best time to recognize and thank the great work done by this great team of people. Thanks for your effort and commitment.
