Hidralia joins the First Lego League as an expert collaborator in the Hydro Dynamics challenge

Young people learn skills and abilities for their personal and professional future through a unique challenge, relating to topical subjects in the global arena, such as resource management, natural disasters, transport, and renewable energies.

In this twelfth edition of the FIRST LEGO League, 15,000 Spanish young people, of which 1,600 are from Andalusia, will be ‘immersed’ in the world of water management with the HYDRO DYNAMICS challenge and will explore where and how to find water, how to transport it, how to use it and how to manage it.

Hidralia, along with the Aquae Foundation and the Water School, all of which are part of the SUEZ Group, have joined the FIRST LEGO League programme in Spain as expert collaborators in the HYDRO DYNAMICS challenge. This international programme encourages young people aged 10 to 16 to seek careers in the fields of science, technology and engineering in Spain, through an exciting learning experience that inspires over 320,000 young people in 88 countries of the world.

Hidralia will make its experience available to these young people and contribute its knowledge on the complete water cycle.

Technicians and experts from this Andalusian complete water cycle management company will be present at each one of the six finals held in Andalusia as members of the jury, to assess the best science project. In addition, a group of experts in complete water cycle management and technology will participate as volunteers to give talks or hold question and answer sessions for participants from the over 85 Andalusian centres that will be taking part with their teams in this challenge.

In addition, Hidralia will provide interested participants with the opportunity to go on guided visits of its facilities.

To present projects and robots, during this edition, 32 classifying FIRST LEGO League tournaments will be held throughout Spain. In Andalusia, these tournaments will be held in Almería (17 February), Cádiz (24 February), Córdoba (10 February), Málaga (18 February), Seville (18 February) and Granada (3 March). The winners of the tournaments will classify for the Spanish Grand Final. From there, some teams will be selected to travel and participate in international tournaments of the FIRST LEGO League.
